What does Easter mean to me on Monday?

I hope you are enjoying your post-Easter week.

We are curently in a series on "What does it mean to me on Monday?" This week I will be preaching on the question "What does the Bible mean to me on Monday?"

This past Sunday we had a great turnout for Easter Sunday. We had a powerful video in our early service and a wonderful breakfast followed by a great special music number and the message, "What does Easter mean to me on Monday?" This message showed how Jesus’ resurrection changed the early disciples’ lives and how it can change ours too. Below is an outline of that message.

This Thursday we will be having Bible Study on Genesis 27-28 on Thursday evening. We will be meeting again at the church building.

The following evening, on Friday, will be our annual chicken and dumplings supper from 4 pm – 7 pm.

Sunday May 8 is Mother’s Day.

God Bless,

“What does Easter mean to me on Monday?”

Verses: John 19:41-20:22

#1 “I am sending you”

  1. Gives us hope. (1 Cor. 15:55-57)
  2. Provides us with purpose to live for. (Matt. 28:16-20)
  3. Gives us boldness. (Acts 4:29)
  4. Gives us peace in danger and troubles. (2 Cor. 11:26, John 16:33)

#2 “Receive the Holy Spirit”

  1. Gives us new life. (2 Cor. 5:17)
  2. Gives us Jesus’ presence forever. (Matt. 28:20)

Two Actions to Take:

#1 Pray this (typed) prayer first thing tomorrow morning:
“Jesus I acknowledge you as my Lord. I admit to you that I have not put you first in my life. Forgive me Lord for not doing that. I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and that you came to life again. I believe that now I have new life. I want to put you first in my life for the rest of my life. Give me the ability to carry out my commitment by your Holy Spirit’s power. I trust you with the rest of my life. Help me to live it for you.”
#2 Come back to church next Sunday.
