The Most Misquoted and Misunderstood Sentence in the Bible

Greetings.

I hope your week is going well.

The weather is beautiful.  God’s beauty is displayed in nature.

This past Sunday’s message was about God’s comfort in our lives.  He has given us comfort in the midst of our troubles.  Jesus guaranteed us that in this world we would have troubles, but He also spoke words of comfort and victory to us in the midst of our troubles.

John 16:33 says, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world."

In Jesus we can have peace.  He does not guarantee us peace in the world but peace in Him.  In this world He guarantees trouble, but reminds us to take heart because He has overcome the world.

It is good to know the one who has overcome the world.  Let us continue to pray and ask God to bring His kingdom and His will on earth as it is in heaven.

This week the message will be "The Most Misquoted and Misunderstood Sentence in the Bible."  We will also be having our church’s Thanksgiving pitch-in following the service.  We really have great pitch-ins and would hate for you to miss it.  I encourage you to invite your friends and family so they don’t have to miss it either.

God Bless,
Brian Mackie
